Time Flies...

My little boy is growing up so fast...I can't believe he is almost 5 months. It seems like just yesterday I couldn't believe I had a baby and how was I ever going to know what to do, and now I can't picture life without him. He is seriously the sunshine of each day and brings so much joy and happiness into our home! We love you Brax!

Mommy and Daddy can't get enough of him!

A Miracle....

Good Bye glasses and contacts....Hello WORLD!!! Devin got Lasik surgery and I must say what a blessing modern technology is!!! I got my eyes done about 4 years ago and have loved it!!! I was so excited that Devin could get his done and enjoy in the blessing of Lasik. It is definitely one of those things that you can't really describe the difference it makes in your life unless you have gone with glasses and contacts for a good part of your life and then get it done! AMAZING is what it is!

Adios.....YEA!!!

Cute goggles so he wouldn't rub his eyes while he slept!
I am so happy for him and once again so thankful for the blessing of Lasik, without glasses, contacts or Lasik Devin and I are considered legally blind. Lasik is truly a MIRACLE!

Another Haircut down....

I decided it was time for another haircut...Braxon's hair was getting quite long again so I thought I would attempt to cut it again...He is 4 months now and this was probably his 3rd real haircut since he has been born...(excluding the few snips here and there of the stragglers)!

I cut off about a 1/4 of an inch

He did really good holding still for the first little bit, but then he was ready to be done! I was a little hesitant to cut it because when its wet it's really curly and cute but once it drys it looks like he has a bouffant...so its best we cut it! He's such a handsome boy with the new due!

4 Months...

Braxon had his 4 month appointment a few days ago. He weighed in at 16 lbs. and 26 inches long. He went down on the percent table. He is now in the 70th percentile for height and weight and also head. He also had to get those lovely "S" words....."SHOTS". I always dislike this part of the appointment. Maybe someday I might get use to it...but as of right now it makes me want to cry every time. He is progressing very well and is a very healthy boy!
4 Month Highlights
~He loves to sing (I swear there is a difference from when he talks) When we put him to bed and turn on his music in his crib he sings for about ten minutes before he goes to sleep, it is the cutest thing...maybe I am crazy...but I choose to think he is singing...its a bit different than his everyday coo's and aw's when he talks.

~He continues to talk and makes sounds. He is always so intense and his facial expressions crack us up when he is talking...he is trying to tell us something, I just wish I knew what it was!

~He is getting really good with his hand and eye coordination.

~He loves his baths and enjoys kicking and splashing.

~He loves to look in the mirror and talk to himself or Devin and I.

~He still loves his little "Moo Moo" blankie and kicks and gets excited when we bring it to him.

~He is very alert and when ever the phone rings, the door shut, the television is turned on, etc. his eyes get really big and he freezes as he listens to try to figure out what is going on...I am constantly reassuring him..."Oh its just the phone...Daddy just left....Do you hear the T.V."

~He loves to suck on his hands.

~His Slobbering hasn't stopped...we still go through lots of bibs each day.

~He loves Nap Time...when he is ready to go to sleep...he is ready! I lay him in his crib with "Moo Moo" and within about 5-10 minutes he is out! (I hope it stays like this)

~He loves to read books....Story Time is an exciting time each day.

~Tummy Time on the other hand isn't his fav...he is doing better, but lets just say he uses all of his energy talking, and doesn't have any left when it comes to tummy time, explaining why he hasn't quite yet mastered rolling over :) He's getting close.

He is such a pleasant, happy boy...we love him so much! He is our pride and joy! I still can't get over how much fun being a mom is! I am so thankful to have Braxon in my life...I am even more thankful I get to stay home with him each day and enjoy every minute of him...Thanks Honey for working so hard and providing!

"What was that Mom???"

Tubby Time

"Are we done yet???"

"Slobber....What???"

My Handy MAN....

A little preface.... I have been wanting to get a glass door on our front door for a little while now. Devin and I have looked around at a few places to see what we liked, but just hadn't got it yet...well the other day Devin or should I say "Clark W. Griswold" surprised me with this strapped to his Grainger Mo-bil...

Need I say more about the Griswold part

Within about an hour he had the door mounted and functioning...hence the handy man title!!!

The finished product!

Thanks so much honey for being such a wonderful husband and always making life great and full of fun surprises!

2nd Best Job in the WORLD...

I've been wanting to do this post for about 3 months now and finally am getting the chance too. The 2nd best job in the world, (since now I have become a mom and that is the #1 best job in the world), was my job working as a Dental Assistant at Dr. Hendrickson's Office. I couldn't have asked for a better job or worked with better people. I had so much fun at this job, and never considered it work or a job, it was more like a hobby! I loved it so much! I am so thankful for the people I worked with and for the wonderful boss I worked for. Dr. Hedrickson is an amazing person and someone who is certified and definitely qualified in his job, his dentistry is AMAZING! I will be forever grateful for him and the many skills he taught me as I worked along side of him. I miss them all at the office, but have found a new joy, love, and hobby as I have started a new chapter in my life being a MOM. Thank you to all my friends at "The Office" I love you all!!!

The last day I worked they had these flowers sent to the office for me from all of them!!!

They also made this scrapbook of all the pictures we had taken each month as I was pregnant. They made a spot on the wall in the back room that had a sign "Miles Baby Bump" and each month they would post a picture of my progress as my baby bump got bigger and bigger!

And last they had this sign hanging up in the back room on my last day! They also had a little going away party/lunch for me! What amazing people I worked with, I can't say enough about them all! "The Office" will always hold a special place in my heart!

Update on BRAXON

Braxon is now 3.5 months old. He is the joy of our lives. He loves to talk and has been since he was barely 2 months. There is times I wish I knew what he was saying. He is very intense when he talks and is definitely trying to tell us something. He loves to slobber and blow bubbles. We go through about 5 bibs and sometimes a few outfits a day to keep him dry from all the spit! He also loves sucking on his hands and will sometimes sit and stare at them trying to figure out what their purpose is. He love his "Moo Moo" which is his little blue cow blankie. The other night we went in his room to see if he was asleep for the night, to find his "Moo Moo" covering his whole face. So I moved it off and went in a little later to check him again, to find his head buried in his "Moo Moo". He loves to have stuff on his face to go to sleep. He is a little snuggler! One of his favorite places to be still, and since the day he was born is the changing table. He loves to lay there and look around. His last Doctor visit was his 2 month appointment and he was 13 lbs. and 24.5 inches long...He is in the 90th percentile in height and weight and 50th on his head...we'll see here in a few weeks at his 4 month appt. what has changed!

His new found toy...the Jumper...He is really starting to like this!

Doing what he does best...SLOBBER and BUBBLES

His best friend..."Moo Moo"

Love My Boys...

The CUTEST BUMS you've ever seen

Like Father...Like Son

He sure loves his Daddy!

LAGOON...I mean...MILES BACKYARD!

We have had a lot of fun in the snow this year and the best part about it...we don't even have to leave our house!!!

The hill in our backyard is almost as good as a Lagoon Ride...

It is so steep at the beginning it gives you a big RUSH... (lets just say you better go to the bathroom before hand)

From the top of the hill we made it clear down between our house and the neighbors and to the front sidewalk!!!

Devin getting ready for "TAKE OFF".....

Finishing out the ride.....

Home Free!!!
(A definite case of "TRY THIS AT HOME")
It was a little cold still for Braxon to be out...he was such a good boy and slept while we had our fun with friends and family!!!

NeW YEaRs...

This year New Years was with my family....we had a lot of fun...(but missed Trent and Miss, they were in St George). We were glad Grandma and Grandpa Pierce joined us! We went to eat at Texas Road House and might I mention probably not the smartest thing to do on New Years Eve, especially if you are claustrophobic and/or don't want to have the chance of getting trampled by the crowds...but the food was YUMMY....ONCE we finally maneuvered through the crowds and got seated! Might I add we all made it out ALIVE. Then we went bowling...which was a lot more peaceful than Texas Road House. We basically had the place to ourselves!!! The night ended back at my sisters house where we spent the night having fun!!!

The Gals

The Guys

BOWLING FUN!!!!!

Enjoyin' Time Together

What a Bunch of BOWLERS!!!

After 2 games of bowling, Mom ended up with a new Breast Cancer Ball and bag....(I think this will be her new hobby)!!!

Family Pictures...

I've been meaning to post these...we got family pictures at the end of November. Devin's mom had set a time for the whole family to go and get pictures taken...we ended up doing some individual ones separately. They ended up turning out pretty good. I was glad we had a few snapped. Thanks Des for doing such a good job!

"First" Christmas
Santa found him on Christmas morning!

Looking at the fun books Santa brought him!

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas at my parents in Park Valley this year....we had a great time!!!

Braxon getting ready to open his Christmas Eve Jammies

Excited to put on his "First" pair of Christmas Eve Jammies!

All the cousins in matching Jammies

My mom still gives us Christmas Eve Jammies too...here we all are with all the kids...we matched pretty good this year!

Instead of Jammies for the guys on Christmas Eve...she gave them all a new pair of JEANS...Devin was very excited about this..."Lookin' Good"

I had to post this picture... My Mom and Dad as a tradition always give the grand kids a new pair of wranglers, a shirt, and a pair of boots every Christmas...Braxon loved his boots. Its hard to believe they make them that small! How Fun!!

We had a great Christmas and enjoyed all the fun games, food, and parties! It was so much fun to have Braxon this Christmas...it made Christmas so MAGICAL! I never imagined parenthood being so fun and rewarding. We are also thankful for our savior at this time, what a blessing it is too have the gospel in our lives!
