Family Vacation to YELLOWSTONE

It was our family vacation on my side this year. At the end of July we headed to Yellowstone with my whole family....and had a FABULOUS time to say the least!!!!

Our first stop was BEAR WORLD

We got to see the wild life right up close

We enjoyed shopping the gift shop while we were there

The kids enjoyed riding the fun rides also!

The two that planned it and made it happen....Thanks Dad & Mom!

We stayed in a cabin all together...All us kids and our families in front of the cabin!

Mom and Dad with all the grandkids

Grocery shopping for some food the day we got there...we also did our fair share of eating out!

Old Faithful & The Hot Pots

SHOPPING

Taking a break from the shopping and enjoying some ice cream....

more than once!!!

Buying a sheep skin rug with dad

THE PARK
We hit up a park one afternoon so the kids could just run and have fun...or should I say we ADULTS...I think we had more fun than the kids!

The RODEO
That night we went to the small town rodeo, it was really fun, the kid enjoyed it too!

QUAKE LAKE & VIRGINA CITY

We went on a tour of Virgina City in a Stagecoach and learned all about the city back in the olden days!
We had so much fun, we didn't want to come home. It is so fun to be with family and make so many fun memories with each other. Our time together is never long enough...but as its said..."All good things must come to and End"!

Braxon 9 Months

At 9 months Braxon weighed 21 lbs. and was 30 long. He was in the 95% for Height, 90% for head, and 70% in weight. He is growing like a weed and is a big boy!

9 Month Highlights
~He finally mastered crawling...I guess I should say his way of crawling. He crawls on one knee as he pushes off with his other foot. It gets him around and I guess that's all that matters.
~He thoroughly enjoys helping his dad in the yard (as seen in previous post). If it has anything to do with dirt and outside...he is in!
~He loves to eat. No matter what I feed him, he usually eats it all gone! Some of his favorites are anything with pasta, cheerios, and applesauce.
~One highlight that we won't forget was when he called 911.
He managed to get a hold of the phone and must have been playing with it for a while, when I noticed and took it away, out of habit I hit the off button to make sure it wasn't on. Two seconds later I get a call "This is 911"...you know how in a split second your mind can take you a million different directions and one of those was that I thought Devin got in a wreck or something horrible...but as quick as they said "This is 911 we just got a call from your home"....I instantly realized Braxon had dialed them not knowing. I sat and had to apologize a million times that my little boy was playing with the phone and must of some how managed to dail 911!... and the lady said it was fine but that and officer would be over shortly because they had already called someone to get to the so called "scene". If you don't think I felt stupid. Well sure enough a few second after I hung up, my door bell rang and it was the officer standing there and he said..."Just checking to see if everything was alright"...As I stood there explaining once again that my little boy was playing with the phone and managed to dial 911! He laughed a little and said he was just glad everything was ok and I sent him on his way.
I did learn a few things from this experience....
1- Don't let your 9 month old or any age child play with the phone
2- 911 really does work and they are on top of it, not that I was doubting but it was a definite true test and case of wow I feel safe if I had to use 911....lets hope I don't!
Braxon is such a joy, and as you can see keeps our lives very interesting and EXCITING, even in ways we don't plan! We love his so much!

Playin in the Dirt with Dad...

Braxon loves to be outside and loves to help his dad in the yard. The other day while Devin was raking the flower beds, Braxon thought he needed to help. As fast as Devin got them raked, Braxon was crawling making trails through them!

What use to be a pretty yellow flower....is now green stems

Grandpa Burt's famous last words "A little dirt never hurt anyone"
It's a good thing cause this boy was covered head to toe by the time he was done!

He sure loves being with his daddy!!!

24th Celebration

Every year around the 24th of July we spend the weekend out at my home town in Park Valley, where they hold the 24th Celebration! It is always a lot of fun to go back and see all of our friends. We enjoy participating in the games which include: races, water balloon toss, and tug-a-war. We also can't miss out on the good food that is served throughout the day. At the end of the day we sit back and enjoy a rodeo!

Hangin out with friends
Enjoying time with the fam
Walker riding a sheep at the rodeo
Walker and Kaden watching the rodeo

Devin and Braxon relaxing!

Road Trip

One of my friends that lives out of state was in town for a little while so we decided to take a road trip to Park Valley. That last time we had been there together was when we were single, this time we both were married and had a kid.
We had a great time for a few days at my mom's hanging out and relaxing!

The boys enjoyed swimming in my moms kiddie pool!

It was a good get away, and fun to get caught up on each others lives. Our boys had a good time together...(we had to joke that their nicknames were Salt and Pepper) Good Times!

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July with Devin's Family. We had fun Swimming, having and BBQ, and later that night celebrating Devin's Dad's birthday a little early with a fun Theme of the Olympics and competing to win the gold. We finished the night with FIREWORKS!!!

Braxon loves water, he could have spend all day in the pool!

Wish I would have got more pictures of the whole day...but as you can see, everyone really enjoyed swimming! We all had a great time!

Cousin Camp

Devin's sister Heidi and her husband Bric always do a Cousin Camp in the summer every year. This year it was at the end of June and the theme was Christmas in June. We were so excited that we were able to go and take Braxon. All the cousins stay at their house while the adults get a hotel and get to have time together as just adults. I must say this was a little hard for me. It was the first time I left Braxon overnight without me. But we survived and I know he had a great time with all the cousins. Heidi and Bric go over and beyond to make cousin camp so much fun! Heidi is so creative and the cousins enjoy being together and doing all the fun activities she prepares.

All the cousins in front of the fort they painted

Miles and Braxon digging in the "snow" for prizes!

Trampoline Fun

Fun in the Sun

Braxon and Heidi (Superwoman)

Braxon and Beckem

While the kids were at camp we adults had a lot of fun also. Devin and I and Robyn and Chandler had a great time at the Discovery Center.

We also went on the paddle boats and fed the ducks popcorn

Later that night we met up with Brandt, Kriste, Aaron and Brita, went shopping at the mall and ate at the Cheesecake Factory.

The next day we all went to Roaring Springs Waterpark and had a blast. A fun time was had by all.
Can't wait for next year!
