Cousin Camp

Devin's sister Heidi and her husband Bric always do a Cousin Camp in the summer every year. This year it was at the end of June and the theme was Christmas in June. We were so excited that we were able to go and take Braxon. All the cousins stay at their house while the adults get a hotel and get to have time together as just adults. I must say this was a little hard for me. It was the first time I left Braxon overnight without me. But we survived and I know he had a great time with all the cousins. Heidi and Bric go over and beyond to make cousin camp so much fun! Heidi is so creative and the cousins enjoy being together and doing all the fun activities she prepares.

Miles and Braxon digging in the "snow" for prizes!

While the kids were at camp we adults had a lot of fun also. Devin and I and Robyn and Chandler had a great time at the Discovery Center.

We also went on the paddle boats and fed the ducks popcorn

Later that night we met up with Brandt, Kriste, Aaron and Brita, went shopping at the mall and ate at the Cheesecake Factory.

The next day we all went to Roaring Springs Waterpark and had a blast. A fun time was had by all.
Can't wait for next year!

Braxon 8 Months

My little guys is growing up so fast. People are always telling me to enjoy every minute cause they grow up way to fast, and I'm now beginning to realize how true this statement is.
8 Month Highlights
~He has discovered a new show called "Super Why" that is on TV...I have one recorded and every time I start it up he gets a big smile on his face. He'll sit and laugh throughout the show...I love to sit and watch him, it cracks me up how he gets so into it.
~He loves to go outside...who ever heads out the door, he always wants to be on board!
~He is a really good eater and pretty much eats anything I give him...his favorites right now are mash potatoes and gravy, red mac, and yogurt!
~He loves his crib and loves to sit and play with all his stuffed animals.
~He gets so entertained by little kids. He loves to be with all of his cousins.
We love him so much. He's such a happy boy and full of life. I have said it quite of few times that he has so much energy and he wants to go and do, but he is stuck in his little body. I think I might be in for a real treat when he gets walking and really moving alot :)

Memorial Day

Dinosaur Park + Rainbow Gardens + The Parkway = LOTS OF FUN

For Memorial Day we decided to have a day of fun with just our little family. Devin surprised Braxon and I with a fun time starting at my favorite place to eat...Cafe Rio for lunch and then up Ogden Canyon going for a 4 miles walk on the parkway, checking out the Dinosaurs at Dinosaur Park and going through the fun gift shops at Rainbow Gardens. If you have never been there, I definitely would recommend it. I seriously felt like I was on a vacation outside of Utah and I was only like 20 min from my house.

Heading out for the adventure....

A few of the dinosaurs we saw as we walked the parkway...we didn't actually go right in the park...we thought we would go inside when Braxon is a little older and can enjoy it more.

He loved all the flowers, as I came toward him with the dandelion he opened his mouth thinking it was a lollipop or something he could eat...he soon realized it wasn't a treat!

Stopping along the way to keep hydrated was a must!

(For all you photo guru's, it was a great spot for some fun pictures)

After the long walk and taking in all the scenes, he was pretty tuckered out!

He did wake back up to shop at the gift shops and get a treat.....
....or was that Dad who wanted the treat, either way he wasn't about to let go of the candy!
We had such a great time...it was a much needed time out as a family...hope everyone else had a great Memorial Day!

Braxon 7 Months

A little up date on Braxon at 7 months. He is getting to be such a big boy. Each stage of his life is so much fun. I always think that every stage is the best until the next one comes. Each stage of his life is so much fun, Devin and I can't get enough of him and his cute personality and zest for life!

7 Month Highlights

~He started to scoot on his bum as he sits up and also gets on his knees as he reaches for toys and sometimes finds himself in a face plant since he hasn't mastered crawling yet.

~He loves to eat and he eats pretty much everything we give him. Some of his favorites are: pears, green beans, peas, yogurt, and pretty much anything we are eating!
~I can't keep him watered. I swear he would drink a lake of water if I let him. Whenever he sees us drinking out of a cup he kicks with his mouth wide open until he get some.

~He loves to be On-The-Go....shopping, driving, walks, etc.

~He loves the fish and has now discovered the birds. The hummingbird feeders on our windows are his favorite. He would sit for hours watching them fly in and out. He knows to look at the windows when every I say "where are the birdies"....I think he is going to be an animal lover just like his daddy!

~He continues to respond to music and LOVES IT! No matter where we are, if he hears music, he stops to listen. He has lots of favorites that we sing but his latest is "If your happy and you know it clap your hands".

~He hasn't made out any words yet when he talks, but his latest way to communicate is a high pitch squeal.

~His little personality is developing so much. He is always so happy and it doesn't take much to get him to laugh or crack a smile!

Bad Hair = Good Day

For us as adults, Bad Hair Days usually equal a Bad Day...but for Braxon it was quite the opposite. His fuzzed out crazy hair meant he really enjoyed his nap, hence meaning it was going to be a GOOD DAY!

(I had to laugh when he got up from his nap and I found his hair like this...to me it was quite cute and I left it like that for the better part of the day, maybe now days that is more the style...the messier the better:)

Chalk another project off the list....

Since we've been finishing our basement and we took on the Oh so dreaded task of painting it ourselves...I decided since we had the paint sprayer I would attack another project that I have been wanting to do for awhile, which was to redo Braxon's crib and chaining table.

BEFORE.....

AFTER!!!

My mom came and helped me attack this project because she had some stuff she wanted to paint as well. Lets just say it was a "PROJECT" and we were glad to get it done, but did have fun doing it together...Thanks Mom for coming and joining me and helping me finish a projected I have wanted to get done!

Braxon 6 Months

I'm a little behind on posting since how Braxon is 7 months now... But for record sake, at Braxon's 6th month appointment he weighed 18.35 pounds and was 27.5 inches long. He is growing like a weed and is considered to be in the 75th percentile on everything.

6 Month Highlights

- His absolute favorite show is the WIGGLES...he would spend hours watching them if I would let him.

-He loves cruisin' around the kitchen in his walker...he starts at one end and circle the island making three different stops, first at the stove pulling the towel and bibs off as he goes by, second the dishwasher where he sees his reflection and gets a kick out of himself, and last the fish tank where he stops the longest.

-He still is a great sleeper and loves to be put in his crib at night time and for his naps. His record nap during the day is 4 hours....I was quite surprised and its happened more than once...I must say I enjoy it when it happens, I'm able to get much accomplished!

-He finds it funny to paint the whole kitchen when he eats! He has figured out how to spit the second I give him a bite....(Orange spotted walls are way in style, right??)

-He hasn't mastered scooting or crawling yet, but sure loves to be sitting up and in on all the action.

-He still is very intrigued with music...he latest favorite that we sing is "Shake Shake Shake...Shake your Bootie" as we shake his bottle.

He is getting so big and is growing up way to fast! I can't say it enough, how much fun being a mom is. Devin and I are so thankful for Braxon and the healthy, happy little boy that he is. We love him so much!

Mom I'm Done...

Watching "The Wiggles" and jumping in the Jumper, equals a good workout and one tired little boy.
Braxon LOVES The Wiggles, so the other day I put him in the jumper to watch them and I went in the office to do a little work, after a little while I couldn't hear anymore jumping and thought "I better go and check him," this is what I found...

When this boy is tired, he is TIRED...it doesn't take much for him to go to sleep (most of the time), even if it is standing up!
